The Carlyle Group co-founder and co-CEO David M. Rubenstein will be the featured speaker at Monticello's annual Fourth of July naturalization ceremony.Few people know Thomas Jefferson conducted a leveraged loan using slaves as collateral. Rubenstein perpetrated the Great Eskimo Tax Scam, making millions selling Alaskan Native tax losses. That provided seed money for The Carlyle Group, a private equity underwriter (PEU).
